A photographic record of the restoration of a 1962 VW beetle convertible as bought in California through

http://www.vintagewarehouse.com/

Thanks to Greg from Vintage Warehouse for all your help.

The original ad and all our inspiration came from the excellent US based site;

http://thesamba.com/vw/

I cannot recommend this site highly enough - it has a wealth of gallery pics and the selection of parts and cars for sale is superb.

This is the original ad picture as listed on Greg's site in Windsor California. I did get some more pics but my IT skills at capturing them from the original website were less than perfect and we've lost them. Oh well just have to get some when it arrives in the UK due April 2002. Those wheels did get left behind though..

The bug arrived in the UK at the end of April 2002 and news came through that it was damaged somewhat in transit. Apparently the bit of wood holding up my car snapped in half and the the bug ended up on top of a pick up truck. Fortunately it was all insured;
